Crystal Brings Bling To Decor
December 13th, 2010 12:56 PM
Girls have known for a long time that diamonds are their best friends. And now crystals of all calibers are seen everywhere in home décor, embellishing interior furnishings such as hardware, lighting, fabrics, trim and tassels.
Wall appliqués that stick to any surface such as paint, wallpaper or fabric are a lot of fun and add a little bling to unexpected areas.
Swarovski is probably one of the best known producers of fine crystal, as collectors of figurines and jewelry are well aware. Swarovski has now teamed up with Shonbek Lighting to produce a new line of award-winning lamps and chandeliers that combine several types of crystal. Swarovski, Strass, optic and rock are some of the crystals that make these lighting pieces wonderful for the collector and the discerning eye.
The dining room is a great location for a little sparkle and drama. JAB, a luxury fabric company in Germany, has just launched a line of trim called Glamour. It is reminiscent of the 1940s Hollywood era with highly reflective crystal in the design, and complements the previous collection of drapery and upholstery fabrics also adorned with crystal.
Come cocktail hour and dinner time a little diamond goes a long way.
