Eurowave

It's a new wave to us, though it's been used in Europe for some time, and by professional athletes everywhere since the mid-70's, to supplement their regular workout routines. Initially developed for astronauts who needed a fast reshaping of muscles after returning from outer space, the exciting “it” is Electro Muscle Stimulation (EMS) which firms muscles, resulting in an incredible loss of inches (a visible inch loss after one 18 minute session and a dress size reduction after ten sessions), and increases metabolism, fluid circulation and oxygenation of the treated area. The lymphatic system is stimulated, helping you detoxify and also making EMS a very effective tool for cellulite treatment.
Don't be fooled by the photo. There was a similar looking machine available here in the 80's using electrode pads but that's where the similarity stops. The old machines used a different technology. Eurowave utilizes a 400Hz and 600Hz pulsating faradic wave that “works out” the muscle group much the same as isometric exercise. It is extremely popular in Europe where women tend not to spend hours in the gym. Fifteen minutes of EMS equals 48 hours of nonstop gym exercise!
So how does it work? Little-used muscles lack tone and are subject to fatigue. Muscles need stimulation to become stronger. With EMS your muscles are contracted for you, tightening and toning them. This of course burns fats as the muscles utilize the surrounding fats as their source of energy. Not only is it effortless and comfortable for you, but since you don't get the chemical change that takes place when you run or do a vigorous activity, then you also don't create the by-products such as lactic acid, which give us muscle soreness and stiffness. Additionally, an increase in energy levels is usually noted after one session, since your body's lymphatic system has been stimulated and your system begins to expel excess fluids and toxins.
EMS can be applied to many areas of the body besides stomach, hips and thighs. It can be used on the bust for an instant bust lift, or firming the buttocks and is particularly good for underarms, a problem area for many women. Men often use the wave to get back the “six-pack abs” or the pectoral definition they once had.
Ideal if you want to transform the shape of your body (Christmas is coming!) By the way, about that dress size loss - even if you were to do nothing else exercise-wise, as long as your weight remains constant, that dress size reduction would be sustained for 6 - 8 months.
Something to consider if you:
want to get trim and slim quickly, easily and safely.
haven't exercised for a while and your muscles are slack. It's a great “kick-start” to strengthening and toning muscles before you begin an exercise program. It's also a great way to get back in shape after having a baby.
have physical limitations which make regular exercise difficult, but want to keep your muscle strength, rather than have muscles atrophy - particularly important as we age.
would rather relax and have your muscles worked out for you. After you achieve your desired body shape, you can have an occasional treatment to ensure you keep it.
want to reduce cellulite and fluid retention.
want a natural and inexpensive way of achieving your desired body shape without surgical intervention.
